Being a large optical manufacturer,
China has been exporting its products to over 100 countries
and regions. Up to Sep. 2004, there are 2812 export-oriented
optical enterprises in China. With ten years experience, the
total production value of the optical industry in Wenzhou
reaches more than 6 billion RMB, of which 80% are exported
to 150 countries and regions. The export of sunglasses makes
up 40% of the world market share. Thus, Wenzhou is listed
as one of the four optical manufacturing bases in China (the
other three being Guangzhou, Danyang, and Xiamen).
